Minnesota Trip Beer #117. Keg at the brewpub, 5/10/16. Clear dark red, medium creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. The taste is roasted malt, chocolate, cherries. Thin.

Draft at the source. Dark brown color, beige head. Aroma of fruity coffee taste is sweet, chalky coffee grounds. Not sure what this is.

Black beer, on tap at the Herkimer. Very soft, smooth palate, fantastic palate. Roasted malt, some earth and a little yeast. I think this is a dry stout. Good. Heavy roast in the aftertaste. Some coffee.

Sampled from the tap at Winterfest 2015. Pours near black with a creamy brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of roasted malts and dark grains wit ha hint of earthiness. Flavor is a touch thin with roasted malts, dark grains and a bit of bitterness.
