This ale is dedicated to the history and people of historic Fort Ann. The ‘e’ for this ale is added to Fort Ann as it was the original spelling of the town and the Battle of Fort Anne in 1777; the ‘e’ was later dropped in the early 1800’s. For this amber ale, roasted toasted malts lend a faint coffee flavor. Local hops add just the right amount of bitterness and flavor, and there is a smooth finish on the back end.

Crowler from the brewery, drunk 2 weeks after capped--crowler machine BROKEN after this so did it get packaged correctly? Iced tea/honey brown with nice ring of head, light lacing. Aroma is strong diacetyl, mild caramel. Taste is diacetyl, caramel, light toffee. Smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Some good aspects here, but diacetyl is prevalent. Unclear if crowler malfunction accounted for off taste--I think so. I will try to have a fresh sample in the future.

32 oz crowler shared by tfontana, thank you. Copper color, hazy liquid, white head. Flavor caramel, biscuits, butter. Body is average texture, average carbonation, malty finish. Overall, A touch of butter which if it was English would be ok. But…. No.

Crowler shared by tfontana on 11/1/25. As pictured. Thanks, Tom.
Buttery! Sourdough. Toasty and stuff. Peppery hops are charming. Looooottta diacetyl.
Not quite as buttery in the mouth with toast and slight caramel and honey sweetness. Good dryness. Crystal malts, peppery local hops and more butter.
