What makes a West Coast IPA? In our opinion it’s got to be crisp, it’s got to be defined and punchy, and it’s got to be as drinkable as a lager, despite its strength. A style that is all about a mastery of balance and refreshment, we feel our Westie output is rapidly growing in reputation after nailing our New England game. Wanting to replicate the beers that inspired us to brew in the first place, Seven Summers is front loaded with a massive whirlpool addition of Enigma on the hot side to impart all manner of robust grapefruit, piney and resinous bitter notes, before a gentle addition of even more Enigma and new to us at Polly’s on the cold side brings orange zest, lime and just a little whisper of white peaches to the party for balance.

Keg @ Oluthuone Haka, Helsinki.
Poured orange in color, not really clear.
Firm bitterness with red grapefruity flavors. Good body, flavorful IPA. Light resiny notes. Solid.

440ml can, surely a hop combo I've not had before. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of grapefruit and piney resin, proper old school. Taste is very piney, resinous, grapefruit, zesty citrus peel, strong bitterness. Medium bodied. Superb. One of the best westies I've had this year, simple and effective.
