Draft at Ted’s airport. Clear golden amber color. Aroma of lightly smoky caramel. Taste is lightly peppery caramel.

This was poured into pint glasses.
The appearance was a hazy amber/red color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. Soft gentle white foamy lacing shows around the sides of the glass.
The smell was malty rich (burnt caramel - a little bit). Light bitter grainy / earthy grassy hops came through in a burnt kind of way.
The taste was burnt malts with a mild chocolate and coffee.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body. Sessionability seemed somewhat there. The carbonation was kind of under for this one. Lingering intrusive burnt caramels lead to dry aftertaste and finish.
Overall, this is one of those ambers that one puts in beef stew. But for the most part it was just an okay beer to me. Nice to try but probably wouldn’t seek out again.

Bottle: Poured a coppery orange with a tan color head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, leafs, and light hops. Taste is nice bitter hops that subside to nice caramel sweet malt finish.

Nice amber glow with a good sized, off-white head and a light copper glow. Aroma of malt, strong nuts, good caramel and a touch of cardboard. Medium-bodied; Deep malt backbone with some pungent nutty and toasty tastes with a very small spice taste near the end and a few bits of brown sugar. Aftertaste shows mostly malt, with some nuts and a touch of bitterness at the end. Overall, a decent amber - not my favourite style, but showing some class and some character for the style. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from La Bodega in Anchorage, Alaska on 26-June-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 29-November-2010.

Bottle thanks to AmericanBrew. Pours with an off-white head over a hazelnut colored body. Aroma is nutty with some caramel. Taste is watery and a bit corn like. Not amazing.
