A style-defying ale that reaches new heights with malty caramel flavor and low hop bitterness.

From notes: Deep red. Full of caramel malts, sweet dark fruits, light biscuit. Not a lot of hop bitterness, this is mostly a malt forward ASA. Solid.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a ruddy semi-dark red color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Sly ridged lacing.
The aroma had a biscuity/caramel malty sweetness with some nuts and dark fruits.
The flavor takes all of those previously mentioned aromas to blend nicely with a touch of earthiness hitting to blend on into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine and the ABV felt fine.
Overall, this was a nice strong ale, perhaps leaning towards an English style instead of an American as there seemed barely any hop bite.

Draft at the source. Hazy to cloudy deep amber color, tan edge head. Aroma of burnt caramel. Taste has caramel and buterscotch. OK.

Draft Mighty Matanuska Brewfest: Poured a coppery to light reddish with a white head. Aroma is light malt. Taste is sweet malt, easy drinker but not super exciting.
