0.75 l bottle from 'SpeciaalBierPakket.nl', best before December 2028, slow gusher. Hazy, dark reddish brown with a medium large, slightly fluffy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity, moderately roasty and a little funky aroma of caramel, cognac, raisins, some chocolate and light brett. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently vinous-fruity, slightly resiny and a little funky taste of caramel, chocolate, cognac, raisins, some red berries, light oak and traces of brett, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, a little boozy finish. Medium body, minimally astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Maybe a bit infected, has a touch of brett and feels a little fizzy. Bummer.

Bottle from AH Jan Linders. Color: Murky dark brown, light brown head. Aroma: Dark malt combined with fruity Cognac notes. Taste: Dark malt, caramel, caramel fudge, combined with fruity Cognac notes. Tasting a bit artificial and, in my opinion, more like it's aged on wood chips soaked in Cognac than Cognac barrel aged. Although I don't want to doubt Kees' barrel age claim. Light boozy hints. Over medium to full body, below average carbonation. Over moderate to medium sweet, moderate bitterness.
