Bourbon and Rum Barrel Aged Baltic Porter
Back in June 2024, we joined forces with our friends at Bracket Brewing to brew a big Baltic Porter. We kept a portion of it to fill both a bourbon and a rum barrel, and they were left to rest for 12 months. Time has worked its magic, melding the smooth vanilla and caramel notes from the bourbon, with the deep molasses and spice from the rum. Beneath the barrel character lies a silky porter with layers of dark chocolate and dried fruit.

Can. Black, a 1/2cm tan head. Spirit heavy aroma with more whisky than rum, vanilla, oak, mocha, pralines. Just short of hot but with plenty of spirit influence upon a taste too. Smooth, lowish carbonation. The beer is not quite buried and there is a tiny bit of bitterness at the end. Good, a bit much wet barrel for me.
