Slightly hazy golden and peach coloured body with a thinnish, fast-dying white head with a few bubbles visible rising from the bottom. Aroma of sour grapes, peaches, lemons, a bit of very lightly smoked malt, hints of grain and saccharine with a little sweetness from caster sugar noticeable as well. Light-bodied; Strong fake sugar flavour at first with some smoked malt and peach flavours with a little grain, some sour grapes and a touch of residual sugars. Aftertaste is relatively elegant and shows the light sour flavour, some peaches, a very small amount of smoked peat and a light sweetness as well, fairly typical of a real berliner weiss, which isn’t easy to do at 6,9% abv and with smoked malts. Overall, a relatively nice beer that shows well, has nice flavours and a robust complexity with a very smooth elegance on the finish which is very nice and very smooth throughout. I sampled this 500 mL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 26-November-2016 for US$6,74 sampled at home in Washington on 04-January-2017.

Treated as a Berliner weisse, this was poured into a stange.
The appearance was a glossy yellow color with a slight transparency about it. Carbonation flowed nicely. No head or lacing, but I seem to get that with Americanized BW’s these days.
The aroma starts slightly smoky with a crisp sweet peach flowing into a sly sour wheat.
The flavor follows through nicely-sweet peach, then some smoke, sly crisp sour wheat. Sweet peach aftertaste runs into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a nice sessionable smooth crisp sweet feel. Semi-sticky with a refreshing contour over my tongue.
Overall, interesting BW. All the qualities of a BW end up coming out, perhaps a bit lighter than expected and then with a Smutlabs sort of nice twist. I wouldn’t mind coming back to this on a hot day.

Wet dog smell. Hazy yellow, medium fizzy head that quickly disappears. Tart lemon, subdued peach finish. Light body, easy carbonation that seems harsher because of the tartness. No alcohol noticed. Really tasty, but I didn’t like the smell at all. Smoked malt did not show.

Bottle shared at tasting. Thanks Jay! Lightly smoked nose with some peach and apricot notes as well as it warms. The smoke is really faint. More peach, some cherry. Average carbonation, not overly sweet and fairly dry. Light body. Not bad.

16.9 oz bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Slightly hazy straw yellow with just under two fingers of off-white head. Aromas of peaches, light smoke, toasted wood. Tastes of sweet peaches, stone fruit, balanced tartness, a hint of smokiness. Medium-light body with a semi-dry finish. Nice balance between peach and smoke.
