Sometimes we crave a classic west coast IPA. We set out to brew a beer that showcases bold citrus and pine flavors with a blend of the finest hop varieties from yakima WA. Brewed with a touch of caramel malt and a classic west coast yeast strain, this beer appears only slightly hazy with a touch of malt color to balance the onslaught of grapefruit, pine, and resin from the hops.

Can from trade with CLW--thanks, Chris! Hazy, dark gold, nice sparkle, thick head with good retention, light lacing. Aroma is strong pine, citrus, grapefruit, malt backbone.Taste is as aroma with the malt more balanced in the mix. Smooth texture, soft carbonation, finish as taste with mild lingering bitterness. Pretty classic for the style. Good balance and strength. Solid.

Can. Aroma of mild bread, light citrus, herb. Flavor is decently balanced between citrus, malt, and the lightest amount of pine in the finish. Moderately dry in texture with a medium body. Very easy to drink.

Pint at the brewery pours a translucent burnt orange with a lovely lacey white head. Nose has malt and honey, pine and orange, grapefruit, soap. Flavor has a pretty big honey note and grain bill. Big citrus and pine, soap sort of fades. Doesn't scream old school, it's a bit too sweet. Good though.
