Sour Ale Aged On Cherries
The time-honored Belgian tradition of aging and blending fruit beers is lovingly expressed in this lively creation, named for legendary brewmaster Rosa Merckx of Liefmans, our sister blendery in Belgium where this beer is crafted.
A charming combination of Oud Bruin, a tart Flemish brown ale, and Cuvee Brut, a cheerful cherry beer, Rosetta offers elegance, depth, complexity and an intriguing interplay of tartness and sweetness.
As of April 2020, Rosetta is available in four-packs of 12 ounce cans.

Bottle @ Front Page News, Atlanta. Cherry heavy aroma and taste. Is dark red with a thick frothy head. Feels very Belgian in style.

Bottle at PIB 2017, pours a dark chestnut brown with a small beige-head. Aroma brings out tart dark cherries and a bit of pithy fruit skins. Flavour is sweet and sour, with tart dark cherries, light balsamic and some medium sweetness. Finishes sweet and sour as well, yet with a dry mouthfeel. Nice stuff.

330ml bottle. Dark ruby to brown colour with average, thick, foamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Intense fruity aroma, sweet-ish and tart-ish, fleshy cherry aroma with a sherbet touch, minimally leafy overtones, a minimally artificial touch of fruit gums. Taste is dry, tart, fruity, notes of cherry, sour cherry, a sherbet touch, some citric fruit acidity, controlled, subtle sweetness. Intensely fruity, superbly balanced - excellent!

330ml bottle picked up at Total Wine in Reno
Pours dark brown/ruby,with a medium sized beige head, some lacing. Aroma of dark cherries, leather and chocolate. Flavor of cherries, woody, toasted malts with a dry, tart finish
Good, gets better as it warms up.

Curious brew, with an aroma hinting at oak-aging and lactobacillus, yet nothing I’ve read says they’re used during brewing, so I guess cherry ales just sorta taste like an oak-aged sour. Who knew. Pours a clear dark brown, offering up a slight off-white head with modest lacing. Taste is sweet but restrained, tart cherry meshing with the vinous dark fruit notes of a Belgian dark ale. Grows a bit soda-ish in the middle, sugary and indulgent, yet the tartness staves off the beer becoming cloy. Finishes semisweet and sour with a strong cherry fade.

Bottle from Varsity. Pours a slightly murky rusty brown with a finger of foam that lingers. Wood, musty basement, cherry aromas. Black raspberry, cherry, cobwebs, wood on the palate. Smooth, lingering cherry. Nice!

Bottle. Pours cloudy reddish amber. Aroma is cherry, stones, red fruit, light funk. Body is light, tart, sour and fizzy. Still nice cherries, yet turning rather artificial. Palate is spritzy and fruity, but also dry and rather short. Quite good.

Bottle. Huge aroma of cherries mostly, plus caramel, a touch of vinegar, yogurt. Dark brown, cloudy, with a thick head. Lightly tart flavor, great fruit, malts, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, yogurt. I would prefer it to be a bit more tart, but this is lovely, huge cherries. Full and soft, somewhat light, and nicely spicy.
