Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 3/3/14
Aroma: The aroma is nutty and malty, nothing much beyond that, but on-style
Appearance: It pours a nice chestnut color with a beige head and some strong lace
Flavor: The flavor is nutty and malty as well, with a late lightly bitter hop component for balance
Palate: This one has a soft mouthfeel with a light-medium body and a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: Not a bad nut brown at all. Simple and on-style, with just enough of a hop presence to keep it from being completely one-dimensional.

Draught @ Oak Creek Pub and Grill, Sedona, AZ
Pours clear amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, nuts and floral. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with an average caramel finish. Body is light to medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap at the brewpub. A clear brown beer with a dense light beige head. Roasted nose with toffee hints and a nutty hint. A faint touch of prunes as well. The flavor is lightly roasted, toffee, nut hints and some prunes in the flavor. Some bitterness. Quite thin, with pleasant carbonation, dry. Roasted finish with toffee and bitterness. Except that it’s too thin on the palate, it’s a pretty nice beer. 130818

Tap at brewpub which is in the resort I’m staying at, somewhat convenient after drinking this much. Pours brown with beige head and a nose that’s nutty and malty. Tastes of caramel, malt, nuts, earth, raisins, and smoke. Pretty nice tasting albeit straightforward brown ale

Poured for me in ’Spenser’s Bar’, Grand Canyon Hotel, Williams, Arizona. Sunday 9th May 2010, Mothers Day. The beer came a true nut brown colour, slight haze, but not cloudy by any means. On top sat a thin tan coloured foaming head, didn’t stay long though. The smells given off were all malty, sweet molasses with slight hints of chocolate and coffee if you dug deep enough. The maltiness carries on throughout the tasting, it dominating the flavours from start to finish. There is a small attempt at some bitterness towards the end of the mouthfeel, but too little too late in my opinion. Not a bad brown, but not a great one either.

12 oz. bottle. Thanks Timmy! Pours dark brown with a thin head and no lacing. The aroma is molasses, pecans, a little roasted malts and some earthy hops. The flavor is sticky sweet, and very bitter. The palate is medium, sticky and astringent. Overall, this is a sticky, syrupy, and cloyingly sweet. Not very impressed.
