Absence of Light is a milk stout brewed with peanut butter. Chocolate malt dominates the grain bill, backed up by a combination of caramel malts and roasted barley. This provides a very rich, complex flavor with notes of chocolate, coffee, peanut butter and a slightly sweet finish.

Draft at bar inside Lukas Liqours. Not as thick as I thought by rthe name. Lighter, freer body. Peanut butter dominates. Light, slightly mineral flavor otherwise. I was expecting a big beer but i got a peanut butter beer instead. I feel like the name needs to be changed to something less ominous. Fun if u want peanut butter.

Bottle. Pours deep clear reddish black, medium creamy tan head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is definite chocolate, peanut, roasty. Flavor is medium sweet, light plus bitter, pb notes. Medium body. Not really my thing.

Bomber shared at the February MDBG tasting. Clear dark red, thin fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of peanut butter and chocolate. The taste is sweet chocolate, peanut butter, dark fruits. Medium bodied, lingering roastiness.

32oz growler from Stateline Liquors pours a murky, deep brown/black with some creamy, tan head. Nose has what you would think, chocolate syrup, some creamy home-style peanut butter, some toasted bread, a little cola, a touch cakey. Flavor is sweet with chocolate and malt balls, more processed peanut butter here, chewy grains, a little coffee, some chocolate ice cream. Full bodied, dry and a touch chalky.

Pretty well done for style. Elements subtly integrated. Pours black with decent mocha head. Some peanut and some dark chocolate. Lots of roast. Bittersweet finish. Some vanilla. Tap at Brookland Pint.

Pour is a almost black witha small tan head. Aroma has a pretty good roasted malt with a little peanut butter in the back round. Flavor is a real nice peanut butter with a touch of chocolate. Very rich and silky smooth mouth feel. Not overly sweet but does have a decent sweet chocolate syrup feel to it. Nice beer with a large flavor profile. Peanut butter and chocolate whats not to like?
