We don’t usually play with fruit adjuncts in our beers, but chatting with Henok, Omnipollo’s founder, about how they use fruit to elevate flavour was seriously inspiring. After testing a few different purées, we all agreed that passion fruit was the perfect match, cutting through the booziness while enhancing the tropical notes from the hops.

Panda from Colin. Cheers. Hazy pale pineapple yellow. Frothy translucent white head. Aroma has sweet fruit with a light resinous bitterness. Flavourwise it's got a bitter core over which there a sugary fruity sweetness. Peripheral sourness. Spice. Medium bodied. Slick. Soft-flat carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Yummer.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Just a light haze on this gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Airy smooth palate, decent fine carbonation coming through late on. Smooth pale malts, a smooth light creamy sweetness. Hops bring soft pine, a fair degree of hop spice. Startling hop fruits, as in it's like they introduced a new line of Opal Fruits with stone fruits and tropical fruits. Juicy fruity hop spicy finish. Super duper.

Hazed orange topped with a lasting just off white head.
Nose is mixed tropicana, mandarin, papaya, ripe melon, passionfruit, guava.
Taste comprises orange pith, mandarin, mango, light stone fruit, papaya, passionfruit, pine resin.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with juicy come resinous hop bitterness.
Solid.

Can shared thanks to Alexander. Very hazy pale yellow. Massive passion fruit, oats, huge dank hops, lime zest, orange peel. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied, soft hop burn. Not sure if this needs fruits... Otherwise great.

440ml can. Almost opaque golden with a white head. Aroma of passionfruit, grapefruit, peach. Taste dominated by passionfruit but it doesn't overwhelm, it's still intensely hoppy, grapefruit, peaches, pineapple, a bit of piney and citrusy hop bitterness. Medium bodied.

440ml can from Benny’s Place, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a thin white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is piney, light citrus fruits. The flavour is over moderate bitter, with a smooth, dry, pepper spicy hop, light orange tangerine, light passionfruit, piney hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Nice, but the hop burn was a little extreme for me.

Can from The Fuss Club. Nose is passionfruit (dominates), mango, papaya, lime,pineapple, peach. Very nice aromas. Passionfruit, lime, mango, grapefruit & guava flavours. Rich juicy fruity mouthfeel. Sharp long lasting hoppy finish.
