Brucie J. is a salute to Hamilton’s Hilarious House of Frankenstein and the mischief that happens when two beloved bitter recipes collide. Andy from Nita Beer and Joe from Grain&Grit Beer Co. combined Chauncey’s playful English Special Bitter character with Bob’s Best Bitter’s warm, old-school comforts to create a beer that’s cheeky and dangerously drinkable.

A red copper amber ale with a thin light mocha head. In aroma, nice caramel malt with light grassy British hops, light mineral notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with light grassy hops, treacle, light butterscotch, pleasant. On tap at brewery.

Clean, deeper amber colour with a big frothy, light-beige head, good retention and clouds of lacing. Bread-like, malty aromas with some fruity apples popping over them. This continues in the taste with a touch of raisin-grapes, some caramel malts appearing in the end, and the cereal grains lingering nicely with decent, grassy hops. Gets a touch hazy near the end, with tiny particles floating around. A refreshing ESB with some fresh apple notes that helps drinkability.
