Damm’s first Märzenbier was created in 1953. In the early years, it was only brewed between October and April and wasn’t made for the rest of the year. In 1955, as it had become a great success, it was decided to brew the Märzenbier all year round. It was given the name Voll-Damm. “Voll” in German means full, complete. The name suited a strong, intense and full-bodied beer. During cooking we add Nugget, Magnum and Taurus variety hops, which are responsible for the characteristic bitterness of Voll-Damm.

(Can) Clear golden amber with short-lived white head. Aroma is malty with some vegetable notes. Medium body with some stickiness, and pleasant fine carbonation. Taste is very malty, with some pleasant toasted malts, maybe a little sweet. There is some reasonable bitterness in the finish providing some balance. Lacks complexity, but is easily drinkable.

Ámbar ligeramente turbia con algo mas de un dedo de densa espuma blanca. Aroma a malta, cereal. Cuerpo potente, sabor fuerte, seca y bastante amarga. Sin embargo sabe combinarlo muy bien con tonos dulces que crean un conjunto bueno y final sabroso.

Pours dark amber with a white head. Aroma is corn flakes, honey, bitter herbs, bread. Powerful and markedly bitter. Long-lingering. Sip it slowly, don’t gulp it.

Can on holiday in Mallorca. Nice clear deep orange / golden Coloured pour with a lasting thin head. Aroma is prettY malty, some raisin, little caramel. Flavour is composed of sweet malts, caramel, harsh hot alcohol, little rough. Palate is medium bodied, highish carbonation and a little solvent. Decent strong eurolager.

Bottle shared at a tasting in Yuvalim. Clear, somewhat deep, golden color. Aroma of malt, a bit caramelly, a bit vegetal, very alcoholic, with metal. Sweet flavor with malt, caramel, alcoholic, with a slightly bitterish finish. Light to medium-bodied, a bit sticky. Another crappy European Strong Lager, just pretending to be something else.

Can @ weekly tasting shared by Dutchdrebus. Clear orange to dark golden color, average sized white to off-white head that diminishes quickly but leaves fair lacing. Smell and taste malts, sweetish malts, lightly alcohol and something weird in the background. Average body and carbonation. A bit strong for an Oktoberfest/Märzen and not very good imo.
