Bottled. Clear orange amber pour. Brett funk nose. Malty and a good balance of yeasty funk.

Hazy golden coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall off-white head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma of hay, grass, a ton of funk, coriander seed, wheat and a lot of wild yeast - deep and bitter throughout with a lot of yeast notes. Medium-bodied; Assertive yeast and funk flavours at first with a big grassy and super dry flavour showing more hay and yeast flavours than anything else - a touch of grapefruit and a tiny bit of sugars around. Aftertaste shows more funky malt and wheat with more yeast and brett flavours around the corner with a touch of sweetness and a very light fruit flavour near the end. Overall, a nice funky beer with a complex flavour and a very dry profile throughout with more of a grass and saison flavour near the end, but still showing a touch of the wild side with brett and definitely spontaneously fermented yeasts. Not really worth trying to find this beer through thick and thin, but not a bad beer to sample, and if you have a bottle of this already kept on the side, I'd recommend keeping it for another few years to see how it develops. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (Foggy Bottom, Eye Street, NorthWest), D.C. on 2-October-2015 for US$7,99 sampled at home in Washington on 06-September-2017.

On tap at Elizabeth Station with Ash. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Aroma is flowery, with herbal notes. Taste is the same with a herbal bitterness with medium level of sweetness and no sourness. Strange as a sour, but it is ok.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/7/2015. Pours crystal clear deep golden yellow color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemon, orange, apricot, melon, pineapple, pear, white grape, peppercorn, hay, straw, leather, wood, musty funk, cracker, toasted biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/funky/spicy yeast, bready malt, and moderate earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, orange, apricot, melon, pineapple, pear, white grape, peppercorn, hay, straw, leather, wood, musty funk, cracker, toasted biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate herbal/yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, apricot, melon, pineapple, pear, white grape, peppercorn, wood, cracker, toasted biscuit, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness, complexity, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy yeast, bready malt, and moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from yeast spiciness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after finish. Overall this is a very good dry hopped Brett wild ale. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy yeast, bready malt, and moderate earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A bit more malty than I initially expected; but was still very well balanced with some unique flavors from the Drie Brett strain. A very enjoyable offering.

22oz bottle. Filtered dulled orange-tan body. Foamy, glass-lacing, white head. Sort of odd, the aroma has sort of fallen off, bottled six months back. Not biting, chewy, or leathery brett..more of a mild Saison-ish feel. Earthy, faint cardboard notes, but at the same time sort of bright and vibrant. Very drinkable, a Brett Pale Ale more than a sour. OK.

This brew pours a clear copper-gold color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of funky yeast, fruit and malt. Medium body with a mildly funky brett character and flavors of citrus and doughy malt. The finish is citrusy hops and brett yeast. Decent overall.

Draught at Lulus, 1/15/16.
Dark golden body shows a modest haziness, with a small but fairly well-retained white head atop.
Belgian esters and phenols in the nose, with nuttiness, light acidity and a good amount of brett-driven fruitiness (lemon, limeskin, pear, apple). The dry hop intensifies these notes and, in general, works pretty well with things, but there’s a bit too much strong citrus and grassiness. Otherwise, fairly middle-of-road as far as these beers go. I’m liking 100% brett fermented beers less and less with every one that I try. Other than the novelty, really don’t see the reason. You get far less bright funk/acidity that you get out of bottling/secondary additions and what you do get is kind of bland and strange. That being said, this is perfectly passable and not overdone, which for Avery, is saying A LOT.
Modestly tart flavors of cherry pie, lime, orange rind and sweet bread. Moderate, fairly tight carbonation and some pepper and more fruitiness on the end. Very simple, which isn’t a bad thing, but none of the flavors wow. No alcohol noted, no flaws. Kind of like a witbier, meets a gose? Completely forgettable.

Bomber from Biner & Vine. Pours orange gold with an off-white head. Aroma is nice "smooth", "fresh" brett with light stone fruit. Near med body. Flavor is lightly, lightly brett with some earth and light stone fruit. Also a subtle spice note. It’s really a pleasant, fruity beer which is quite dry. Very nice.

22 oz. bottle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out bretty funk, some light dry hopping and little citrus. Flavour is along the same lines, with a good mix of bretty funk and piney, floral dry hopping, and a touch of citrus on the finish. Not overly complex, but it works very well together. Very nice stuff.
