This is an English Porter brewed with many different chocolate and biscuit malts. Smooth chocolate and deep caramel flavour lead to a sweet body with red berry aroma from Bramling Cross hops.
The cask version of Hokum is same recipe, however this version undergoes a week of refermentation in cask to get the authentic experience of small tight bubbles and a mellowing of the roast character.

Cask at Deya Taproom. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate and roast malts. Taste is very roasty, dark chocolate, caramel and biscuity malt, leading to a bittersweet but drying finish. Very smooth, perhaps a little lighter than the old Hokum Stomp, also a percentage point lower in ABV though. Really nice cask porter.

Cask at That Beer Place, Chester. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small scummy tan head and good lacing. The aroma has roasted malts, biscuits and cocoa. In the mouth it is sweet and smooth with a creamy texture. Roasted malts and chocolate to the fore in the flavour alongside cookie crunch and a hint of strawberries later. Sweetness lasts into the finish. This is rather nice.

Cask by stillage st One Inn The Wood, Petts Wood on 15th January 2025. Deep sepia black with shallow, loose dark tan foam and spot lacing. Roasty malt aroma. Rich bitter chocolate roastiness in-mouth with suggestions of smoke. A finish of much the same blend. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Very pleasant.
