Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is dark malt, caramel, toffee, dried dark fruits, raisins, with some nice roast and burnt notes. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium. Enjoyable with its firm burnt caramel malt aroma.

Thuis uit een flesje. Veel vlokken bij het uitschenken, zakt gelukkig wel. Bruine kleur, matig schuim. Goede smaak, niet uitgesproken zoet en bitter, wel zwaar in alcoholsmaak voor de 6,8%.

Bottle. Dark brown color. caramel and roast in the aroma. Malty sweet, caramelly roasty flavor with laurel and licorice. Dryish finish. Roasty and slightly sticky. Not unpleasant.

Bottled 330ml (Smaakhuis)
Dark brown colour, small beige head and some lace. A bit bready, caramelly, date fruity aroma. Light-bodied. Could be maltier for its ABV. Now watery with caramel, rye bread and raisins. Harmless.

330 ml. bottle. BBF 11 SEP 2019. Dark brown amber. Nose is very NL old school, yeasty & overripe fruit, liquorice, dried prunes, figs, very NL style fermenting fruit. Taste is furniture, oak, overripe figs, plastic, dash glue, yeast, old school NL, too much of those things, dried fruit, liquorice, herbal,… Body is plastic, glue, liquorice,… I know that this is a Scottish Ale but to me this is all old school NL Belgian Strong Ale taste-wise. Feels like way more than 6.8 % ABV almost quad-like, good for what it is or rather for an NL / BE old school beer and not a wee heavy but whatever.

A Dutch Scottish Ale, whatever next? 330ml bottle from Simon. 9th July 2018; Shrewsbury Beer Exchange Group meeting in Chez Sophie. Dark amber body, beige topping. Sweet and malty as expected, my sweet tooth taking to it straight away.
