From the shadows of the North comes Dròlan, the legendary honey beast said to guard the hives. This braggot pays homage with a bold fusion of rich malt & golden honey, brewing up a drink both wild & untamed.; deep amber with a smooth body, with flavours of caramel, wildflowers & a whisper of smoke. Both ferocious & comforting, Dròlan is a beer to savour slowly, lest you awaken the monster...

10/5/2026. Bottle shared by LazyPyro, cheers Chris! Pours nicely, good colour, small head. Aroma is smoky and a little peaty, rich honey, caramel, malty, flowery, hedgerow. Medium sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, oily, soft carbonation. Not typically a smoked beer fan but this works nicely in this mead.

Can from Uilebhiest. Pours hazy orange to brown with a decent off white head. Aromas of floral honey, toffee, orange, red fruit and apple. Taste is more of the same. Not as honeyed as feared! Definite barley wine vibes.

Nose - floral honey, toffee, orange, red fruit and baked apple.
Taste - juicy baked apple, honey and dried orange.
Palate - medium to full bodied and a sweet middle. Elements of sweet and sour and of a barley wine.
Overall - great stuff.

440ml can. Almost clear golden with an off-white head. Aroma of honey, caramel, meaty smoke, floral/herbal. Taste is sweet, lots of honey and caramel, floral, and a bit herbal, smoke is well judged adding an extra dimension to this braggot in the form of some meaty flavour, finish is boozy, warming. Medium-full bodied, slick oily texture.
Very nice braggot, wasn't expecting the smoke so that was a pleasant surprise.

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours clear oily honey - deep blonde with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is very interesting, smokey embers upfront, rich honey character, oily, honey cake, slightly floral, stroopwaffle and caramel. The taste is bitter - sweet, oily, slick, mouth - coating honey, honey cake, caramel, stroopwaffle, taffy, tangy, pleasing booziness and dull.snoke with a drying finale. Interesting and with nice depth. Fun stuff.
