Dark brown, bourbon nose on this is bright and fresh. Not bad but odd. The base cuts deep with bitter chocolate, a light fruitiness, not much complexity but a good character.

On tap. Pours black with very slight head. Aromas of bourbon, fudge, graham cracker, dark toffee, vanilla and slick roasted malts. Flavors of dry dark nutty chocolate, a bit of oak, a bit of bourbon, rye, licorice and roasted malts. Very good.

On tap at Luppolo, pours black with a tiny tan head. Aroma is complex, with plenty of bourbon barrel expression, rich dark chocolate, molasses, and some oaky notes. Flavour is complex, with plenty of bourbon barrels, dark dry chocolate, dry oak, and a light bitter astringency on the finish. Could actually use a touch extra sugar, but the palate is really smooth and the barrel expression is impressive. Excellent.

On tap at Luppolo. Pours black with a minimal head. Nice roasted malts, a bit of char, and bourbon barrels on the nose. Flavour has toasted bready malts, some crusts, molassss, moderate bourbon barrels. Nice bourbon finish. Very nicely done.
