Deep ruby hues and decadent layers of chocolate, dates, figs, and raisins define this indulgent Pastry Barley Wine. Smooth, full-bodied, and warming; one to savour slowly by a crackling fire.

Cask at The Colmore, Brum. Opaque brown. Thin foamy light beige head primarily clings to the rim. Aroma has fruit, sour fruit, dark malts amd booze. Flavourwise it's quite sour with a light fruit sweet edge. Hints of underlying malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-flat carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Not overly keen on this Barley Wine. Too sour for me. Not aw warming sipper which is what I want from the style.

Penny Less - I felt like it after purchasing this one. Strong heavy, but not particularly boozy barley wine. It's quite smooth too with mild liquorice notes.
