Aaron A. Hill (1785–1869), Edward’s great-great-grandfather, once kept the original tavern in North Greensboro—the very place whose sign inspired our brewery’s logo. In his honor, we have shaped this barleywine-style ale, allowed to rest—unhurried and undisturbed—for two full years in Port barrels, drawing quietly from the wood the character of place and the patience of its lineage. Structured yet smooth, this beer is a reflection that patience and oak can together impart complexity and depth.
