Moo Joos combines the full body of a Milk Stout with the silky smoothness of an Oatmeal Stout. Lactose sugar in the boil contributes a full and creamy mouthfeel while toasted and flaked oats in the mash round out the beer with an oily texture. A deep malt bill builds layers of roasty notes with hints of chocolate, coffee and anise. A traditional British Cask Yeast is then pitched, which leaves us with a fruity, malty ale.

Roast and tiramisu chocolate. Bitter finish with some coffee. Better than the ratings would suggest for me at least. Has more bitterness than sweet pastry diabetes. Black pour without much mocha head. Tap at Stone Arch.

Gift bottle from my wife's boss. Pour is big an black with little head. Taste is certainly milk stout, you can feel it. Darker burnt wood from an aged damp campfire effects. There are legs on the side of the glass. Taste is quite good and mellow for the alky content. Decent amount of co2 as well, makes it rather interesting. Filling in nature. Pretty good stout. Not bad; and it ends with a tad of medium length dark chocolate bitterness on the finish.

12 ounce bottle from Happy Harry's 45th St Fargo, 8/26/20. Black, large fizzy dark brown head, good retention. Aroma of roast, molasses, lactose. Kinda offputting and a little fake. Taste is coffee, roast, cherry, lactose, leather. Thankfully better than the aroma. Medium bodied, low bitterness. I was wrong. The adjunct version was better.

Dark brown coloured body with a thicker, two to three centimetre tall light brown head. Aroma of lactose, milk, cream, light coffee, some subtle cacao notes and a dash of cherries and vanilla at the tail end. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive toasted and slightly roasted malt flavours with some peat, but more of the milk, cream and especially lactose flavours noticeable in the middle. Aftertaste shows a decidedly malty beer with some light chocolate notes, a hint of vanilla, but mostly the oaty and grainy finish from the roasted malts. Overall, a light and thin beer that I wasn't expecting, but the profile seemed all there with a ton of pure milk and lactose flavours, but also some other nice flavours such as the cherries and vanilla notes near the end. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle as part of the 'beer of the month' club from my brother-in-law at home in Monroe, Connecticut, received in December 2017, sampled here in Monroe, Connecticut on 10-March-2018 at my brother & sister-in-laws - Thanks Brett!

Bottle. Deep nearly opaque garnet-brown body, thin tan head. Lactic nose with cocoa notes. Toasty, woody body, relatively dry, primarily cocoa nipped with a lactic bite. Reminded me of Mackeson XXX.

Bottle: Pours black with a small tan head. Oatmeal, dark chocolate aroma. Taste is lightly roasty, dark chocolate malt, oats.... A bit of coffee bitter, and a slight lactic tang.......not as creamy as some, but very good.

12 oz bottle bought along Highway 2 somewhere on a recent road trip. Aroma is chocolaty, roasty, coffee, licorice. Pours black with a one finger tan head with good retention. Taste is sweet with a faint bitterness. Pretty much everything you want in a sweet stout. Good stuff.
