In order to obtain a beer like no other, we have been adding whole sour cherries to our lambic for generations.
Our meeting with American importer Charles Finkel in the 1970s revolutionised the fruit beer segment. Charles convinced us to export our old kriek to the United States by boat. What we had not thought of is that the movement of the waves would reactivate the fermentation process and cause the corks to pop during the trip. It was like something out of The Adventures of Tintin. To prevent that from happening, we therefore developed an alternative production method for our kriek. We use fresh, not from concentrate, unsweetened cherry filtrate which we blend with lambic that is at least one year old before fermenting & macerating for up to 3 days and pasteurising the whole batch. So the corks don't pop.

Bottle. Pours deep ruby red with a big pink head. Aromas of sweet cherries, acetic, light funk, sugary. Taste is sugary sweet, sweet cherries, light acetic notes, light malt, funk. Never getting to love these sweet sugary things.

Red color, pink head. Strong sweetened cherry juice aroma. You can smell it metres from the glass. Lots of cherry juice in the very sweet flavor. Some lemon sourness to compensate. It's impossible to taste the lambic that is used. Still, the beer tastes OK, like cherry lemonade can taste well on a hot day.

Taster pour at Greg & Jane's Beer and Wine. Appearance is hazy rosé with fair sparkle, small pinkish head with no lacing. Aroma is strong, sweet cherry. Taste as aroma with mild tart balance. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with lively carbonation and crisp finish as taste. Overall, a mostly sweet, strong cherry beer with a light amount of tart for balance. Decent.

bottiglia 25 cl, schiuma rosa media grana media persistenza, colore amarena limpido, al naso intenso amarena frutti rossi leggero aceto, in bocca intenso amarena sciroppo leggero aceto citrica, carbonazione moderata, corpo leggero, acida, molto dolce con amaro assente. Inizia a piacermi lo stile, approfondirò. Molto buona. c. Famila Varese 20.04.19

Flaska från Franprix i Paris. Drucken ur flskan. Trots den väl tilltagna sötman riktigt fina körsbärssmaker med både syrlighet och kärnkaraktär. Gott.

Good, though I generally don't dig cherry flavoring, as much as I love cherries.
