Under an ominous sky, something awoke in Tyrol that could no longer be stopped. Bierol's Wheatenstein, a creation of malt and wheat, rose from the kettle like a revival of classic wheat DNA. This wheat wine combines gentle banana and clove notes with a full body and a delicate sweetness that is almost monstrously satisfying.

31 December 2025. New Year’s Eve tasting - cheers to all! Can from Mr. Hop.

A: hazy orange, small, foamy, white head.
A: ripe banana, apricot, honey, nutmeg, cookie dough.
T: sweet banana, apple & apricot, honey, spicy clove.
F: peppery hops, soft spices, ripe yellow fruits, warming fruit liqueur-like alcohol.
P: medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation.
Not very sophisticated, but works well as some kind of 'hybrid' or 'Imperial Hefeweizen'.

Can, Day 11 of my Mr Hop beer advent calendar from their webshop, Venray, Netherlands. Consumed this Friday 12th December 2025, cooking Thomasina Miers Picadillo (Mexican Chile) however this is for other meals, we're actually having Dishoom Masala Prawns and another curry of Masala Chicken with Pulau Rice and Poppadoms and Raita. 🎧 to Huw Stephens on 6Music. Pours light amber with a large white head that dropped swiftly. The aroma is certainly wheaty but also a little boozy, there are hints of banana and clove but these come through more in the mouth. Nice mouthfeel, there's a nice bite a little bannoffee. Good. Score 7.4
