330 ml can, from Left Field Beer, England. ABV is 10.8%. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Aroma of roast malts, lactose, Christmas cake and Christmas spices. Sweet flavour with the same elements, a bit too much lactose, distinct spices and bittering hops in the finish.

On tap at The Green Goddess, Blackheath Royal Standard. Black pour with a tan head. Aromas of cinnamon, cloves, liquorice toffee, dark chocolate, sweet tobacco, certainly a Christmas cake feel. Taste is full on Christmas sweet spices, lick of dark chocolate & coffee. Warming alcohol infusion. Lightly bitter edge. Good.

330ml can. Pitch black with a tan head. Aroma of a very spicy Christmas cake, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, dried fruits, chocolate, roast malts, marzipan, really sweet yet somehow finishes bitter. Full bodied, smooth, boozy. Absurd amounts of spices in this one, glad it was a small can.

Taste is chocolate, dark fruit, raisin, earthy malt, nutmeg, cinnamon, coffee, dusty cocoa, sweet nutty chocolate. Lots going on. Just about all works.
