Hazy brown and muddy coloured body with a great, thick tan head - very nice looking! Aroma of bread, yeast, coriander seed, malt, cinnamon and a touch of alcohol - oh yeah, a lot of brown sugar too. Medium-bodied; Strong squash and pumpkin flavour with some malt and yeast showing soon behind with a lot of alcohol, sweetness and sugars touching on the back-end. Aftertaste is a bit complex, but showing largely wheat, yeast and sugars. Overall, a fairly good weizen bock, on the lighter side of the style, but I like that, especially in the large format bottle. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 09-November-2011 for US$3.99 sampled at home in Washington after returning from holiday on 02-January-2012.

22oz bomber split with Anndiesel. Red-brown, lots of chunky floaties. A pretty nice Weizen Bock, very yeast forward and drinkable for the ABV. Has a nice hop balance, still subtle though. Bready, with lots of caramel and banana tones. A great stateside example of the style.

Wheat bread crust nose with vague tart fig notes underneath. Hazy copper, medium yellow head. Flavor is again bready, with a bitter walnut component. Vague blackberry flavor. Carbonation is soft, alcohol noticeable, but acceptable. Lacking in spice and fruit esters. I’ll buy that it is a bock beer, but the yeast seems all wrong to me. Very American.

Bomber pours nearly clear amber with deep ruby red hues and 60 second tan head. The aroma starts off with a dark fruity sense mixing with a slightly sour lactose sensation that steadily grows into a mild level of smoky rauch malts and earthiness. The taste is very similar with dark grape, prune and over ripe cherry sweet dark fruity esters and rolling into subtle and smooth smoky rauch malts, spicy hops, earthy hops and a sense of slightly roasted malts off in the background. Cool brew. I enjoy the touch of smoke going on here.

Bomber from the brewpub. Pours light hazy copper with a good foamy off-white head. Very malty aroma. Flavor is medium roast malt with nice dose of something like noble hop. It’s just more sweet than bitter, but it’s near balanced. Not sticky. Very tasty and drinkable. Which is a lot of praise from me.

This one came to me from a friend who had been staying out west for a little while. Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a rich ruby-caramel color with a very large tan head. The aroma was a nice mix of fruity citrus and grapefruit. The flavor was tangy caramel, vague fruity and hints of nut, brown sugar and roasty malts. Slightly yeasty underneath. a bit chewy and syrupy. The finish was tangy and nutty. Decent.

Hazy, flat-looking amber colour with no head. Aroma of spice, alcohol, light peach, plum. Slight alcohol note, and dusty yeast. Light fruit finish. Some okay flavours, but lifeless.

Bottle Pours a slightly hazy light orange/amber. Small quick head and spotty lacing. Sweet fruity aroma. Lots of notes I can’t put my finger on.l raisons, spices, orange peel. Flavor is not quite so complex, a bit sour and thin. Slightly swet woody and very little hop bitterness. Moderate feel. Low carbonation. Interesting.
