Aged for 12 months in rich bourbon barrels, this imperial stout emerges smooth, bold, and just a little dangerous. Cold-infused coffee beans add a silky kick, letting the barrel’s warm, oaky character shine. Notes of roasted espresso, dark chocolate, and vanilla drift across the palate before a slow, toasty finish. Barrel. Beans. Bliss.

Aged for 12 months in barrels that once held bourbon

330 ml can. Pours almost black with full tan head. Aromas of chocolate, wet earthy coffee grounds, soft bourbon, roasted malts and a bit of sulphur. Flavors of earthy coffee, vanilla, chocolate nougat, soft bourbon, and oily roasted malts. Quite tasty but maybe a bit too much coffee…

Can picked up from Walther Mai, München and consumed the same say, Tuesday 16th December 2025, at our Premier Inn after a day in Salzburg for me. Pours pitch black with a slim beige head, mostly just a rim of tiny bubbles actually. Taste is initially sweet, barrel ageing very noticeable as is the coffee infusion, however the bourbon wins out, just! Smooth and with a little boozy warmth, nice slightly oiliness in texture, good Impy' Stout. Score 7.8
