Cans from House Of Trembling Madness and Cornelius. Dark brown body with a beige head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of lightly roasted malt, rust and filter coffee. Flavour of Marmite, blackberry and Dr Pepper. Medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Well balanced and dangerously easy to drink. It’s good and very straightforward.

Can picked up at Newbarns. It pours darkest brown to black with a small khaki head. The aroma is rich roasted, very chocolate forward, cocoa, cacao nibs, pipe tobacco, touch of toffee and chewy liquorice. The taste is initially dry, deeply roasted malt, earthy, bitter - sweet character, rather savoury, coffee grounds, cocoa dusting, cacao nibs, treacle, some warming alcohol, plenty of umami, liquorice, toothy and a some toasted spices. Finish is drying and deeply roasted finished. A rich chewy & savoury porter.

Can from Appellation Wines. Pours pretty dark brown with a thick tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, earthy malt, faint spice. Taste is more chocolate, treacle and ginger. Bit too sweet on the finish for me.
