A strong Belgian Quad aged in grain whisky barrels. Pouring a deep reddish brown, Belgian candi sugars and a proprietory yeast blend give vanilla and cherry aromas, and dessert like flavours of toffee, date and raisin. A touch of oak and the slightest note of whisky add to the balance between sweet and dry leaving the beer refreshing yet decadent.

Can picked up at Westhill Service Station. It pours clear deep red - mahogany brown with a decent bubbly beige head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, rich fruit character, fig, raisin, prune, date, sultana, toasted fruit loaf, mellow whisky character, vanilla, toffee, honeyed grain/cereal, booze soaked fruit and dundee cake. The taste is initially dry and warming, boozey vibes, fruity whisky, dangerously smooth, raisin, sultana, date, fig, fruit loaf, toasted nut, smooth whisky and well hidden alcohol with a smooth finale. Medium+ body and smooth, fluffy carbonation. Lovely flavour and balance. Very nice.

Can from Lupe Pintos. Clear amber body with a beige head. Low carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of yeast and wood with a subtle oaky, whisky note. Flavour of salted bread, vanilla, green banana and rum soaked raisins. Medium to full body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Rich and complex - a delicious and unusual beer.

Can from Appellation Wines.
Appearance - olive brown sheen with a beige, fluffy head.
Nose - boozy prune and wood.
Taste - more prunes (in Armagnac?) with brown sugar and wood again.
Palate - full bodied, sweet and rich middle but somehow not too sweet on the finish, possibly the wood drying it out nicely.
Overall - lovely gear!
