Driven by wanderlust and a desire for discovery, the Curious Traveler™ set out to explore the globe. Always fearlessly inquisitive, he relished opportunities to befriend other travelers and to experience cultures he had only previously imagined. He sampled their wares, their foods and most importantly their libations. Some were good. Some not so good. Others were downright dangerous.

Many years into his travels, his pace slowed on a particularly sweltering day. He sought refuge in a small pub to escape the oppressive heat. Before he could even finish wiping his brow, the bartender handed him a glistening glass of ale. The Traveler took a liking to the invigorating lemon shandy concoction. “Quite a refresher!” he said gratefully.

The Traveler has never stopped exploring – in fact, he’s on the road this very day. Somewhere. Only one thing has changed: he now makes sure he orders a shandy everywhere he goes.

Bottle drank at the hotel in NOLA - picked up at Walgreens in Arkansas. Pours hazy, matte gold with a creamy crown. The nose holds zesty lemon and lime, some pale bread. Moderately sweet, with more ple bread character, some hay, sugary lemon, ripe lemon, a little orange rind. Light bodied with average carbonation and massaging texture. Sweet, lightly sugary on the finish, with more sweet lemon, some grapefruit and tangerine. Nice shandy.

Pours a hazy yellow from a bottle. Somewhat lemony- I suppose, but mostly just kind of a muddled letdown.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 1/2016. Pours hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big lemonade, lemon peel, light pepper, wheat, cracker, light honey, light herbal/grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of lemon juice/peel, pale malt, and light earthy hop/yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of big lemonade, lemon peel, light pepper, wheat, cracker, light honey, light herbal/grass, and yeast earthiness. Light lemon tartness and earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemonade, lemon peel, wheat, cracker, light honey, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of lemon juice/peel, pale malt, and light earthy hop/yeast ester flavors; with a great malt/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.4%. Overall this is a damn nice shandy style. All around great robustness and balance of lemon juice/peel, pale malt, and light earthy hop/yeast ester flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

12 oz. Bottle. Pale cloudy yellow color, thin fizzy head. Aroma is wheat and sugary lemonade.

The body of this is slightly fuller then it’s older German brothers. A bit more malt then I would have guessed. Still it’s mostly lemonade and wheat. Drinkable if you really want a Radler.

Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. As Curious Traveler Lemon Shandy. Pours hazy, dirty gold with a slight white head. Aroma is rather "fresh" lemon. Med minus body. Flavor starts a bit wheaty, moves to lemon, gets back to wheat. Might be good on a hot day, but ...
