An English-style brown ale with a malt profile of caramel, toffee and cocoa. A dark ale that is well rounded with a malty sweet flavor with clean finish.

Light caramel, black pepper, walnut, and pumpernickel. Sweet and malty, with a mellow, nutty bitterness. Light to medium body, grainy, and a bit sticky. Easy, simple, and solid.

Can at the house in Jackson - picked up from Bin 22. Pours red-brown with a frothy, light khaki head. Light to medium sweet flavour with notes of toasted bread, some grains, a little earth, dried berries, accents of cocoa and day-old coffee. Light bodied with average carbonation. Malty finish, more toast, hints of twangy aged berries, slight earthy hops. Basic stuff, drinkable enough.

12oz can. Kind of caramel forward, syrupy. Brown ales are subtle creatures, and this one misses the mark. Smells like extract, all around a cheap, homebrew feel to it. Drinkable and not off I suppose, but a pretty weak offering.
