750ml bottle, purchased by one of my friends from the brewery. Split in half. Poured a murky golden brown color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was yeast, grain notes, with a lot of bourbon, with woody vanilla. Lots of grain, vanilla. Bourbon isn't as hot as it smelled. Toffee, some light fruit. One of the nicer barrel aged barleywines I've had recently.

Sample at GABF 10/04/2014, thanks to my BIL for assistance with note-taking. Hazy yellow-gold color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily. Strings of lace. Bourbon, yeast and fruit in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, malt and earthy yeast. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and citrus aftertaste. Above average overall.

Thrilled to make this rating #4500. Pours a hazy orange with some sudsy, white head. Nose is really well balanced, plenty of caramel, vanilla, coconut meat, candy sugar, some spice, a bit of booze, butterscotch. Flavor is nice, butterscotch, caramel, wood pulp, vanillin, a little crackerjack, coconut. Super smooth finish. Incredibly drinkable. Really good barrel treatment.
