Our Tokubetsu Honjozo is a lighter-bodied sake to which the sake master adds a small amount of alcohol prior to the filtering stage. This technique brings out the clean and savoury flavours elicited through the brewing process. Offering a longer and more robust finish, it perfectly complements a multi-course dinner.

15/9/2023. Bottle shared by danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear very pale yellow with no head. Aroma of citrus, rice water, caramel, slight nutty edge. Some toffee sweetness and alcohol bitterness with light spicy notes. Medium body, no carbonation. Quite drinkable.

300ml bottle from Japan Centre. Clear very pale yellow colour, no head and aroma of rice, earthy, booze. Taste is rice, fruity, caramel hint, with earthy grassy boozy notes. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, dry finish. Nicely drinkable.
