Akashi Tai Tokubetsu Honjozo Genshu is made with Gohyakumangoku rice, which has a milling rate of 60% and is bottled at full strength of 19% abv without the addition of water. Genshu Tokubetsu Sake, Akashi Tai, full bodied rice wine with a higher alcohol content than most sakes.
Honjozo Genshu Tokubetsu is perfect for rich spice, with subtle pink graperfruit, beeswax & floral notes. Finishing with tropical fruits and a creamy unami flavour.

15/9/2023. Bottle shared by danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear with a pale yellow edge and no head. Aroma is fruity, boozy, flowery, blossom, hint of honey. Medium sweetness and bitterness, nicely balanced. Rich boozy and warming. Medium body, quite smooth, no carbonation. It's higher abv comes through well.

300ml bottle from Japan Centre. Clear very pale yellow colour, no head and aroma of rice, fruity melon, alcohol. Taste is rice, fruity, floral, melon, caramel hint, with warming alcohol. Medium bodied, low carbonation, warm boozy finish. Nicely drinkable.
