Once a year, homebrewers are encouraged to send us their best brews. This time was the fourth time we invite a homebrewer to join us and Siren for a collaborative brew. Dave Strachan submitted a beautiful coconut Porter and so we decided to play along on that theme. Brewed with maple syrup and aromas.

Black with a minimal light brown head. A burned caramel aroma with some sense of coffee and licorice sense. Sweet with a good caramel and licorice end, like!!

9-4-8-3-16 Bottle, as Omnipollo Siren Dave Strachan Lorelei Barrel Aged Coconut Maple Toast Imperial Porter Brewed With Toasted Coconut & Maple syrup (abv 12,5 %), 18 months before bbd. Pours pitch black, with a slowly receding big creamy mocha head. Aroma is dark roasted malts with raw cocoa, muscovado and coconut, as well as liquorice, maple syrup and wooden barrels. Full, creamy body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is dark roasted malts with chocolate, maple syrup, muscovado and sweet licorice, as well as coconuts, tobacco and wooden barrels. Fairly balanced and drinkable for such a big, creamy and rich beer.

Black with a ring tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate and fudge. One dimensional but still damn nice. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap @ MBCC 2017. Pours pitch black with a small dark brown head. Aroma is packed with maple, ’labre larver’, coffee, vanilla, slight coconut. Taste is fudgey, labre larver, maple, some coffee-like notes, toasted cocoa nibs. Super delicious. More coconut would’ve been nice, though. As with the original.
