Tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam, with Nick and Jasper, 14th January 2026. Pours a dark brown, meaty and caramel nose to it, taste is authentic, smoke and roasted malts, clean and not too heavy - good

500ml can. Opalescent, auburn colour with ruby shimmer and average, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, sulphureous to beige head. Smoky, minimally ashy aroma, notes of smoked wood, a touch of wood ashes, widely disguised, caramel malty undertones. Taste is caramel malty with some residual sweetness, smoky and minimally ashy, mildly bitter, minimally grassy hoppy overtones, minimallydiluted notes of caramel, some dark caramel, smoked wood, a touch of wood ashes, some malt lozenge, minimally metallic overtones.
Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, slightly dry palate, fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Well balanced, focussed, not much depth, not overly sophisticated - solid.
