Wee Mac is a Scottish style brown ale. Fermented at cooler than normal temperatures to mimic the climate of Scotland. Wee Mac is an easy drinking brown ale that is both smooth and malty wit caramel and chocolate tones. Hops are used sparingly in this beer and serve only to help balance the sweetness of the malt.

Can, from a liquor shop. Pours celar reddish brown with a small frothy beige head, very faint caramel aroma, high carbonation, mildly sweetcaramel taste with nutty flavor, faintly yeasty, thin body, long semisweet finish. A bit thin but easy to drink.

Poured a dark orangeish color with a small white head. Sweet malts, some light alcohol comes through with that sweetness. Flavor was kind of bland, boring. Mostly just that sweet cloy you get with this style sometimes. At the DC area socially distant Fall 2020 tasting.

Light orange. Not a lot here. Orange amber with ok head. Light tangy finish. Not really anything here like invisible man. Can on sale for 99 cents. Tells you something.

Bit light, lacking Scottish or much flavor, but it's sweet and smooth at least.

12 oz. can. Pours a clear dark copper color with a khaki head and good retention. Decent lacing. Undefined aroma. Maybe some caramel? The flavors are very muted too. Faint caramel and faint roast flavors. Light body - especially for the style. Smooth, flat mouthfeel. Enjoyable, but forgettable.

The smell is a little lighter in the usual peat or smoke, but it is detectable, nonetheless. It pours a nice brown ale color in a glass, under a foamy head that is gone after a few minutes. The taste has a bit of the nuttiness of a northern brown ale. A slight bit of smokiness at the back of the palate. This is not too sweet, but achieves a bit of a dry finish without interference from hop additions. The overall effect is between a Northern Brown like a Newcastle, and a Wee Heavy: somewhat filling, but at 5.3% abv, it doesn't weigh the drinker down at meals.
