If there was a champagne of meads, this would be it: floral notes, crisp acidity, and all-around deliciousness. This, my friend, is truly the nectar of the gods.

Absolutely clear, crystal-clear coloured body with the faintest tint of white or light pink with a non-existant head that shows all the light passed through from the source. Aroma of honey, wild rice, a touch of grain, but mostly dry, herbal and grassy herbal notes with just pure honey and yeast and absolutely nothing else. Super light-bodied; Strong, very funky and odd flavour of wet feet, funk, grain, light sweetness, yeast, bread and a bit more of the assertive/dry flavours that make the honey work so well in converting sugar to alcohol. Aftertaste shows the dry funk, honey and especially the grassy and sweet side of things more than anything else - but again, there isn't much here. Overall, a pretty subdued and very unassuming drink with only the honey and dry flavours standing out in terms of quality and variance. Sadly, I'd pass up on this one if I saw it, despite wanting to try a 'local' mead. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Clarendon (Arlington), Virginia on 29-October-2018 for US$3,29 sampled at home in Washington on 25-November-2018.

12 oz can shared by DCLawyer, thanks Jason! Whitish yellow with off-white ring. Not a good aroma, mostly smells like a fresh hair perm and some nail polish. Tastes of honey, light floral notes. Light body with a dry finish.

With apologies to BeerandBlues2, who I pass as Maryland’s top raker with this one. Draft at Glen’s. Clearish bright yellow, white champagne head that settles to an edge with bubbles. Bright floral aroma with lilac and lavender. Taste is floral, nicely dry. Tasty and very drinkable. OK, Maryland raters, time to step up your game.

16oz pour at City Tap House DC. Pours a lightly hazy bright, neon yellow with some thin, white head. Nose is very fusel, lots of paint, a little rubbing alcohol, some faint honey, floral but in an artificial way. Flavor follows along, very boozy for 6.9%, industrial, floral too which makes for a harsh contract. Just not my thing.

Draft at Max’s. Poured a clear yellow color without much, if any head at all. Aroma was more like crisp apples - some mild sweetness. Flavor had tons of champagne notes - very dry, crisp. Mild sweetness.
