I was thinken real pilsner would be a bit more bitter than this. I want to say this is your typical pale yellow american beer but it is a bit more. Just a little more enjoyable than a typical pale yellow beer. Also, I was very happy with my variety case from Schell; pale ale, octoberfest, pilsner, caramel boch, firebrick, maifest, doppelbock, zommerfest, etc. Wow what a variety…..loved it. Schell has some of the best looking labels, too! If i’m to give a pale yellow beer a rating above 2, it’s good!

I wanted to like this but I was let down. It looks nice, orange with a large white head. Flavors of corn and chemicals. Schell makes some good stuff, but stay away from this one.

Bottled. I had this draft at the brewery last year, but this bottle leaves a better impression on me. Thin, transitory head. Darker than style, almost coppery. The malt is even a little toasty. There's a firm hop bitterness, just a little bit peppery. A very fine American pilsener. Can be slammed as a lawnmower beer or sipped slowly to enjoy its complexity (and yes, they have changed the label from "Pils" to "Pilsner.")

Pilseners are not my favorite style but I couldn't find much wrong with this. This was much richer than I thought a Pils could be. Nice balance of hops and malt, and it was tangy enough to hold my interest much longer than a typical Pils. Not bad at all.
