Keg at Spacebar, 4/6/15. Dark brown, thin creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate. The taste is chocolate, caramel, roasted malts, espresso. Medium bodied, low carbonation, lingering roast.

Sampled on nitro at the brewery pours a murky deep brown with caramel edges and a lacing, sticky brown head. Nose is interesting, lots of dark chocolate, some cherry cordial, lurking acid, some tobacco, licorice, toast, some dried orange peel. Flavor has all roasted malt, toast, licorice, molasses, some fig, some raisin, a little black pepper, some green grass oddly. Full, sticky and just a bit hot.

Nitro pour of this at the brewery. Poured a dark, black-brown color with some light ruby notes on the edges. Dark tan colored head. Aroma was light sweet notes of malt, plenty of roast, but not overly robust. Some light yeast notes. Flavor is actually a bit more ?tart? than I expected. Roast balances it out. Licorice finish.

4 oz pour on draft at Spacebar. Dark brownish black with light tan head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, caramel. Tastes of dark chocolate, licorice, roast, caramel. Medium body with a dry finish. Bit too licoricey in the taste for me. Body is on the lighter side for the style, don’t think I would have guessed this were an imperial stout if I had it blind.

Nitro tap. Pours opaque black, medium tan head, nice lacing. Aroma is quite roasty, ashes, a touch of rubber, ashtray. Flavor is light sweet, medium bitter, notes of roasty, coffee, melon. Medium body, lingering bitterness. A touch watery, perhaps.
