Braggot brewed with apples and cinnamon - a hybrid of mead and beer.
This amber-coloured braggot opens with an inviting honey aroma, layered with notes of baked apple, dates, apricot and peach, gentle nuttiness and sweet vanilla. The flavour is bold and warming with low carbonation: slightly sweet at first with light malt character and pronounced honey notes, complemented by ripe, syrupy yellow plums, apples and peaches. In the mid-palate the profile becomes drier with a touch of acidity. The finish reveals toasty bourbon vanilla and subtle spice, light oaky tannins, soft cinnamon and oxidative sherry-like notes. A complex, warming and full-bodied braggot combining playfulness with depth of flavour.

0.33 l bottle from 'Craftbeers', best before December 2030. Almost clear, amber with a few white bubbles on top of it. Intensely sweetish-malty, gently fruity, slightly boozy, moderately floral and a little spicy aroma of honey, caramel, baked apple, bourbon, some cinnamon and light lovage. Rather sweet, malty, rather boozy, gently fruity, slightly floral and a little spicy taste of honey, caramel, toasted nuts, bourbon, baked apple, cinnamon, lovage and some wax, followed by a long, moderately bitter, rather boozy, a little woody-dry finish. Medium body, slightly fizzy mouthfeel, almost flat. Very strange brew, quite complex but relatively thin and boozy. Quite interesting to try, definitely not bad, quite unique.

Too much apple for me - personal preference. No score.

Amber colour, not much head. Cinnamon, vanilla, honey, apple in the nose. Medium-bodied. Flavour has also cinnamon, lots of booze, ginger, honey and crackers with whiskey vibe. Warming alcohol. Slow sipper. It's heavy on alcohol.
