With a liberal dusting of cinnamon for those yuletide vibes and even thicker and sweeter than usual, there’s more than enough chocolate and caramel to land this one on the naughty list. An 8.4% treat, perfect for sipping while the tree goes up, or for after the big dinner.

Teesside Beery Day Out Beer#18. Bonus changing trains in Leeds brew. Not quite fully black in colour, but full of chocolate in around and taste, which is a little affected by its strength, but certainly not in aftertaste where the chocolate lingers long.

On tap. Pours a very dark brown with moderate foamy head. Aromas of chocolate cake, dark caramel, vanilla, a little cinnamon and slick roasted malts with a hint of peppermint. Flavors follow same with more intense cinnamon. Still getting that peppermint too. Very good.

Keg at Steel Coulson southside. Pours near black with a thin tan head. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, hazelnut and spice. Taste is more of the same. Clean finish. Easy drinking festive fayre.
