A New Year brings a new treat! Our newest addition to the Champions range makes its alcohol-free debut.

The classically piney and punchy orange pith aromatics of Beyond, alongside it’s sticky, resinous mouthfeel, make this just the drink to see you through your Jan, no matter how dry it is or isn’t.

Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 21A adapted: alcohol free). Can 33 cl - Batch S3118 (BB: unreadable). AROMA: medium to medium-high hop aroma (pine and slight citrusy - lemony). neutral background. APPEARANCE: pale orange and hazy. medium moussy white head with good retention. TASTE: initial medium-low hop flavor (pine, resin, slight lemon). neutral background with hints of malt. very high, harsh bitterness. finishes dry and overly bitter that persists. MOUTHFEEL: low body with medium carbonation. astringency present. OVERALL: an IPA with ok hop aroma and somewhat ok hop flavor (nevertheless with some oddness) but with excessive bitterness for a beer that lacks any-kind of support from malt (or unfermented wort sweetness in this case).

330ml can. Pours a hazy orange with a frothy white head and surprisingly nice lacing for an AF beer, good retention. Aroma is odd... lemon/grapefruit but like a kitchen cleaner scent not hops. Taste is unfortunately the same way, yes there's some lemon, grapefruit flavour, but it's kitchen cleaner type shit, and also very bitter and astringent, not in the nice west coast way like the OG beer is, aftertaste of chemicals. Body was actually fine, light-medium.

Could only manage half the can, drain-poured the rest. Seriously horrendous effort from the Monks here, appearance and texture the only positives I can say.
Their AF beers have gone downhill fast. The changes they've made to the recipes have been abysmal.
