"Tokaji Lélek" means "the soul of Tokaj" in Hungarian, a reference to the essence and spirit of the famous Tokaj wine region. This blend was crafted with Hárslevel grapes and aged for one year in an old Tokaj barrel. It combines 1-, 2-, and 3-year-old lambics at the time of bottling, resulting in a complex harmony of wild fermentation and the wine-like depth found in older sweet, slowly oxidized Tokaj blends.

0,75l bottle at home. Bottled 01/02/2023. Orange hazy color, small white head. smells spices, earthy, oxidized, oak. Very nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes spices, oxidation, sweet wine notes, bit pepper, sherry, honey. finishes lightly sweet and lightly sour with notes of sherry, sweet wine and oxidation notes. Very nice one, a tad heavy

Hazy orange, thin, off-white head. Aroma of musty orange & apricot, bread crust, rosemary, tobacco, horseblanket, hay, old white wine. Taste has sour apricot, orange & grape alongside bitter herbs and funky hay notes. Tart orange peel in the finish, bitter grape skins, faint herbal hops. Medium body, moussy texture, average carbonation. I remember De Meester's Maître Brut Tokaj BA which was similarly dusty and unfresh. Maybe I don't really like Tokaj BA, then.
