Draft/growler from Luckys Market. Pretty dark brown, nearpy opaque with a decent webby head and good retention, Typical porter in all respects. Nose is mild, hints at chocolate and maybe a little espresso. Flavor is similar, light bodied leading to a dry coffee finish, lingering notes of chocolatey/toffee malt.

Very rich deep dark brown coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall pure brown head and a good deal of opacity throughout. Aroma of roasted malt, tons of nuts, seaweed and even a touch of liquid smoke and pure earth/dirt. Medium-bodied; Assertive roasty flavours with the malt coming out at first, showing some good smokiness and a lot of malts coupled with nuts noticeable as well. All finishing with a bit of chocolate and coffee evident at the tail end. Aftertaste is robust and complex with a very nice flavour from the roasty sweetness. Overall, a good and rich porter with a great flavour and a nice profile throughout. Easily worth space in the suitcase, when you find this one! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 01-October-2015 for US$2,25 sampled at home in Washington on 08-May-2016.

Opaque black color, good creamy brownish head. Coffee beans and licorice in the nose. Light to medium-bodied. Flavor has sweet licorice and then some ash in the finish. Easy-going porter.
