A tribute from one Salfordian to another. Our Eccles Cake Pastry Stout blends sweet malts with hints of lemon and raising for a rich, pudding-like pour. A deliciously indulgent stout that captures the comforting flavours of the original bake.

Panda at home, thanks to the Wingmane, 03/05/2026.
Extremely dark mahogany brown topped with a beige cap that thins to a swirl.
Nose is chocolate, dark malts, herb, spice, dried fruit rinds.
Taste comprises cake mix, cocoa powder, faint liquorice, light spice, dark malts.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Fun enough pastry that pulls of the Eccles cake fairly well.

Wigan Beer Festival 2026, Beer#27. Hazy darker-brown colour. For those who know Eccles Cakes well it's not a bad taste association here, just quite a strength-infused one, which transfers more into a full-body and somewhat sticky-sweet texture rather than being boozy. Syrup in aroma.
