Can sample at Top of the Hops Biloxi. Opaque brown color, thick beige head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of creamy caffe macchiato. Taste is sweet dark milk chocolate, slightly sour, complex and tasty.

Bottle. Milk chocolate malt and light hay aroma. Dark brown with small head. Sweet chocolate malt and lightly bitter hay flavor. Body light. Pretty good for Shiner.

Bottle from Total Wine in Lynwood, WA. Heavy chocolate aroma - reminds of chocolate cake or brownies. Med body. Aroma didn’t carry through. Flavor is still chocolate, but the "bakery" aspect is gone, leaving a rather watery choocolate. Drinkable.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with a large foamy brown head. Good head retention. Aroma of chocolate cake batter, a bit of vanilla, roasted malt and coconut. The taste is chocolate and dark fruits. Thin bodied and highly carbonated, definitely stripping out some of the taste. Could be good but it disappoints.

On tap at The Gingerman. Pours a dark brown with medium beige head that lasts. The aroma is straight chocolate cake. Thin mouthfeel, strong chocolate, mocha, sugary malt, good.

Pour is a black with a huge tan head. Aroma Is like a nice chocolate cake. Flavor is a little weaker but you still get a nice chocolate on the tongue. This beer reminds me of those chocolate sheet cakes your parents would buy from a bakery for your birthday.

Bottle from Bert’s Solid dark brown with ruby at the edges. Huge Hershey’s chocolate syrup aroma dominates letting little else through. Brownie batter and milk chocolate flavors abound. Kind of sweet and one dimensional, but satisfies like licking a bowl of batter does.

12oz bottle. Intense, massive brown bakers chocolate cocoa aroma. At first I was a little disturbed by the aroma, but I am now fascinated by it...it is really unique for a beer, in a good way..pungent chocolate..intense..borderline extract/artificial overload. This is a true chocolate stout, rich, doughy. Medium bodied, this one is pretty cool.
