With a deep amber pour, rich malt backbone, and a firm, earthy bitterness that lingers with pride. Honest, hearty, and unmistakably British, it’s a pint that celebrates tradition.

A dark brown beer, a head is quite small and light beige. Aroma has breadyness, some fruitness and herbs. Taste has breadyness, herbs, some bitterness, quite dry. Almost medium bodied, smooth. Very nice.

First pub of the night, but too late for the Calcutta Cup clash today, I don't even know who won yet, but this Rugby themed beer is a winner. It has a nutty-malty bitterness with oodles of chocolate to enjoy in its aftertaste.

Can. Buxton online. Clear deep amber red. Slim sticky foam with a few suds. Nose has nutty mulch like malts and blackberry forward hop leaf notes. Taste is nutty sweet with an inevitable hit of, in this case leafy and slightly herbal, Buxton bitterness. Lots of flavour and good depth for the 4.1. Excellent best bitter that part way makes up for a couple of cans of shite I’ve had from the same order.
