Park West Porter on tap at PPD. Pours a nearly opaque deep brown with some thin, off white head. Nose is interesting, almost a hint of sourness, toast, malt, straw, light nut. Flavor has no sourness Which Is good, some toasted wheat, a little cherry, malt, bread, black pepper, smoke. Dry finish. A little strange for my taste.

Draft. Deep brown body with a frothy beige head, fully lasting. Big aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, bread, basement mustiness, The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture and soft carbonation Roast, chocolate and toffee dominate the taste. Light, lingering bitterness accentuates the malt flavors.

Tap @ Tap and Handle Fort Collins. Titled Park West Porter. Pours a deep brown appearance with a creamy, dark brown head. Spicy herbal, light liberty hoppy, a touch chewy, light citrusy, chocolate aroma. A touch minty, light, kind of bland, cardboard, chocolate, quite roasty, a touch piney flavor. Maybe my least favorite Green Flash brew to date.

On tap at Green Flash. Pours with a near black body and a medium sized tan head that lasts. Aromas are malty (complexly so). Cola, brown sugar, bready, leathery, chocolate, with some tobacco and toasted malt notes. Flavors are leathery, cola, chocolate, coffee, toffee. Pretty strong bitterness, but an overall neutral balance. Medium-full carbonation, medium bodied but a bit on the drier side.

Tap at Rattle n Hum. I’m shocked this doesn’t have a higher rating. Pours black with a thick, foamy white head. Roasted malt nose with strong notes of coffee. Flavor is rich in burnt malt character, with some light cocoa. Nice, medium to large body, backed by the adequate 5.8% ABV. Clean and dry on the finish with some lingering sweetness, this beer offers everything you would want from a porter.
